The Lakeland High School Athletic Boosters is made up of parents of Lakeland athletes. The purpose of the organization is to raise the awareness of sports at Lakeland and raise money for the athletes and teams. For the 2007-2008 school year the Boosters raised and distributed over $25,000 back to the teams at the school. This money was raised through the sale of concessions, logowear and other fund raisers. This brings the total distributed over the past 5 years to over $130,000!
The team distributions are determined by the number of points the parents for each team earn during the year. A point is approximately 2 hours of volunteer time and was worth $22.00 in 2007-2008.
In addition to running the concession stands the Boosters award 2 $1000 scholarships each year and will be sponsoring the following events/fund raisers during the 2008-2009 school year:
- Taste Fest-Fall
- Entertainment Books-Fall
- Practice ACT Test-Winter
- Concession Stands-All Year
- Euchre Tournaments-Fall and Winter
- Sports Spectacular-Fall, Winter and Spring
- Kroger Cards-All Year
- Market Day-All Year
